HRE Named Exclusive Lightware Distributor for the US Live Events Market

Two decades of Lightware experience and dedicated technical support for live event professionals

PHOENIX, September 25, 2026 — High Resolution Engineering (HRE) has announced an exclusive distribution partnership with Lightware for the U.S. rental, staging and live-event market. The partnership gives customers access to Lightware signal management products supported by a team with extensive experience designing, configuring and operating live-event video systems.

Lightware selected HRE for its practical experience using Lightware products in live events and its understanding of the technologies surrounding them. HRE brings more than 20 years of experience with routing and switching systems, image processing, screen switching, high-resolution video and media servers. That background helps customers evaluate how a router or extender will perform within the complete production system.

“I’m excited to have our teams closely align in the Live Event Entertainment and Rental markets. HRE is a subject matter expert in the space and can assist the market with system designs to enhance upcoming large projects” said Roger Takacs, Executive VP of Sales for Lightware Americas.

HRE’s relationship with Lightware is rooted in Drew Taylor’s live-event work dating to 2006. His first Lightware products were DVI EDID Managers, which helped resolve the reliability challenges of early digital video systems.

“Lightware’s DVI EDID Manager was a game changer for us in making digital DVI signals work reliably,” said Drew Taylor, owner and CEO of HRE. “As the technology has evolved, Lightware has continued developing products and tools that address the problems we face on shows. We know the routers and the equipment connected to them, and we’re here to help customers design, configure and support systems they can depend on.”

Practical guidance before and after the purchase

HRE helps customers define requirements before an order is placed, including input and output counts, signal formats, connection types, fiber distances and redundancy. Customers can work with the team to compare products, review compatibility with existing equipment and plan systems that suit their show requirements and rental inventory.

That support extends to questions about router operation, EDID management, HDMI and DisplayPort workflows, configuration and troubleshooting. HRE also offers product demonstrations and education, with testing, training and deployment assistance available to suit the project. Customers gain a technical resource familiar with both the equipment and the demands of live production.

Lightware products for live production

HRE uses Lightware’s MX2 matrix routers in its own rental systems. The range includes HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 models supporting full 4K at 60 frames per second in RGB 4:4:4, along with supported custom resolutions within the interface bandwidth limits. The product offering spans compact matrices through 48-by-48 systems, fiber extenders and other signal management solutions for live production.

Advanced EDID management, HDCP management and built-in signal analysis help teams configure systems and troubleshoot digital video. MX2 routing adds no frame or line delay to the video signal. HRE also helps customers apply DisplayID tiled-display workflows, including Mac Mosaic configurations on compatible systems, drawing on its work with high-resolution sources and displays.

Dedicated experience supporting customers

Mike Ellsworth, HRE’s Customer Solutions Manager, spent 13 years at Lightware developing solutions for customers and providing technical support. He brings that product knowledge and customer-first approach to HRE’s distribution partnership, helping customers move from initial requirements and product selection through configuration and support.

Ellsworth also supports HRE customers purchasing technology from other leading brands, including PIXERA, disguise, Barco and DEXON Systems. His experience helps customers consider how those platforms work together within a complete production system.
